We are happy to announce this new one day Egypt package from Cyprus, the shortest we have ever offered departing every Tuesday. This great single day trip begins with your pick-up from your hotel (Nicosia excluded) and transfer to Pafos (Paphos) Airport where the flight to Cairo will depart at 08.40 am. Arrival at Cairo Airport is at 08:50. There you will be greeted by our representatives, who will assist you through visa procedures and through to the touring coaches for your day trip.
You will pass first through Heliopolis, an elite residential suburb of Cairo, while our professional guide will point out places of interest ‘en route’ to Islamic Cairo to visit the ‘Citadel of Saladin’ and the ‘Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali’. You will be able to admire the exquisite interiors of the Mosque and view the fascinating skyline of Old Cairo from the top of the hill.
Then you will be taken towards the busy Tahrir (Liberty) Square, the heart of down town Cairo to visit the treasures of Egypt’s National Archaeological Museum. You will have the opportunity to get a glimpse of Egypt’s ancient history covering 5000 years. The Museum houses an exquisite array of Egyptian Antiquities, including the magnificent Tut Ankh Amun collection. You will have the opportunity to visit the Royal Mummies Exhibition (optional) where you can see eleven unwrapped royal mummies, including the greatest Pharaoh himself Ramses II, in an amazing state of preservation.
Following the Museum visit comes the highlight of this day tour, a visit to the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World, the imposing Pyramids of Giza with the Great Sphinx guarding them. There you will be able to take panoramic pictures of the Pyramids.
A sumptuous International buffet lunch will be served at the luxurious 5 star Mövenpick hotel. Water and coffee/tea are included in the cost of the excursion. Next stop will be at a papyrus factory where the procedure of manufacturing the oldest paper in the world, an art discovered by the Ancient Egyptians, will be demonstrated. A short stop for souvenir shopping will be allowed on the way to the banks of the River Nile downtown. There you will board a luxurious Nile Cruising restaurant boat for a cruise on Earth’ longest river, gliding along the same way traveled by Pharaohs, Queens and Nobles thousands of years before you. The view’s of Modern Cairo at dusk will astound you. Once on board dinner will be served while a folkloric presentation and belly dancing are performed. After the Nile cruise you will be taken to Cairo airport where you will have time for duty free shopping before the return flight to Cyprus which departs at 21:30. Arrival at Paphos International airport at approximately 23:40. Return transfer to your hotel.
